THE NON-BRUTALIST BARBICAN ESTATE TOUR, LONDON

The Barbican Estate in the City of London is celebrated today for its brutalist character. This walk, led by Barbican resident and former Museum of London director Cathy Ross, will explore the more complex qualities of this massive piece of 20th century urban placemaking. The estate expressed postwar ideas about the past and an imagined future. How is it faring in the present, as it adjusts to the reality of 21st century life?
