‘Cottswold banditti’: Gimson and the Barnsleys in Gloucestershire

ZOOM LECTURE

Sun 16 Apr 2023

Zoom lecture by Annette Carruthers, at 6.00 pm (London). In advance of the DAS visit to the Gloucestershire Guild’s `Crafts Alive’ event at Rodmarton Manor on 14 September 2023, this talk will set the house and its lovely garden in the context of the careers of its architect, Ernest Barnsley, his brother Sidney and their friend and colleague Ernest Gimson. Their move to the Cotswolds in 1893 was significant in the history of the Arts & Crafts Movement and still resonates for craftworkers today.

All DAS members whose email addresses we have will be sent a link to the lectures. Please do share the link with anyone you think will be interested. If you think we may not have an email address for you and would like to take part please contact the Membership Secretary, membershipdas@gmail.com
