A WEEKEND VISIT TO DERBYSHIRE AND SOUTH YORKSHIRE

UK Study Tour, 19 – 21 Sept 2024

Based in Sheffield, this three-day visit will include an archivist-led tour of Renishaw Hall and curator-led tours of the two museums at Cannon Hall, both the collection of post-1850 ceramics, glass and Arts & Crafts furniture (followed by a handling session), and the new museum housing the De Morgan Collection. A further De Morgan connection will be found at the nearby Cawthorne church. In Sheffield we will see the Millennium Gallery with its metalwork collection, and the Turner Glass Museum, and visit Sheffield Cathedral for its post-1850 decorative elements, which include stalls designed by Ninian Comper, metalwork by Corin Mellor and Brian Fell, and stained glass by Christopher Webb and Keith New.
