A special summer opening for four days is planned to spotlight the incredible craftsmanship behind the elaborate decoration at Two Temple Place in London. There will be live demonstrations of the crafts used to create the building, including stone carving, wood carving, gilding, and conservation. Creative workshops for all ages range from stained glass to clay cherubs and printmaking.
Understanding stained glass with The Stained Glass Museum will be happening throughout the day on Thursday 28 August and Crafty Fox Market are taking over the Lower Gallery on Saturday 30th August with a Sample & Seconds makers market.
There will be a series of evening talks about the building, the people who made it, and its wider history throughout the weekend. A geological guide to the marble floors and the future of carving are two of the aspects covered.
The event runs from 28 to 31 August. For more information and to book tickets for evening talks visit the website https://twotempleplace.org/cultural-programme/celebration-of-makers/
