The Century Guild Exhibition at the William Morris Gallery

This much anticipated show, open until August 31, explores the aesthetics and lasting legacy of this association of artists, designers and craftspeople. The Century Guild was established by Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo, architect and designer, who later helped to found the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow.  This show celebrates an important new book: Arts & Crafts Pioneers: The Hobby Horse Men and their Century Guild by Stuart Evans (completed after his death by Jean Liddiard).  Roisin Inglesby, Senior Curator at the William Morris Gallery and curator of the exhibition provided a fascinating private tour for DAS members of the exhibition, including of textiles, furniture and more.
