UK EVENT
Tue 31 Mar 2026
Led by local architect Paul Velluet, who has worked primarily in the field of building conservation for some 40 years, our walk in Richmond will include visits to the Church of St John the Divine, one of the finest Arts & Crafts churches in South-West London; the recently reordered 18th-century Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene to see G.F. Bodley’s major extension of 1904–5 containing very fine stained glass by Burlison & Grylls; and, it is hoped, the Church of St Elizabeth of Portugal, to look at the early 20th-century work by F.A. Walters and Harry Goodhart-Rendel. For those with an interest in inter-war architecture and design, we will also be looking closely at the recently completed, award-winning restoration of Southern Railway’s Art Deco Richmond Station of 1936–7.
The visit is from 11.00 to 13.00 and the cost is £20. Please contact Martin Webster, Chairman of the Events sub-committee if you would like a place on this visit.
