PARIS: A Century of Art Deco

PARIS: A Century of Art Deco

FOREIGN STUDY TOUR

Sun 04 Jan 2026

A short visit to Paris is being planned in January or February 2026, focussing on the forthcoming exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs which aims to celebrate the Art Deco movement in all its facets and contradictions. The many masterpieces of the museum’s Art Deco collection, the largest in the world, will be on display, such as André Groult’s shagreen chiffonnier, elegant pieces by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann and the library desk from the French Embassy by Pierre Chareau, reinstalled for this anniversary. The frenetic pace and thirst for freedom of the Roaring Twenties will be the leitmotif of this exhibition.

Please contact Martin Webster, Chairman of the Events sub-committee if you are interested in receiving details of this visit.
