An Arts and Crafts Weekend in the Scottish Borders

Friday 13th to Sunday 15th October, 2017

We are planning a visit to a very fine private collection of Arts and Crafts furniture in a magnificent historic house near Berwick-on-Tweed. The house has alterations and additions by Robert Lorimer and the furniture includes pieces by him as well as by Gimson, Greene, Lutyens, Russell, Sharpe, Thompson and Waals. In addition to close study and discussion of the collection there will be an excursion to Cragside in Northumberland (Norman Shaw, 1869–85) and Manderston House, Borders (remodelled by John Kinross, 1901–5). Accommodation will be in the house, which has been beautifully decorated in the past few years and is very warm and comfortable. Numbers are limited by the accommodation available and this is an opportunity that is unlikely to be repeated.
