Visit to the Guildhall Art Gallery and Postman’s Park

Sarah Hardy (De Morgan Foundation) will host our visit to the highly successful UK touring exhibition Sublime Symmetry: The Mathematics Behind De Morgan’s Ceramic Design being held at the Guildhall Art Gallery. Sarah will discuss De Morgan’s life and work and how mathematics informed his creative designs, before taking us on a short walk to Postman’s Park. Here we shall see and hear about the G.F. Watts-inspired Memorial to Heroic Self Sacrifice, for which each tablet was designed by De Morgan.
